Killer crossover.

Unthinkable.

Its been two weeks since “Lebron-Gate” began and the world speculated on how someone of his caliber could play so poorly and allow his team to get bounced out of the playoffs in the second round.  This was supposed to be his year to win a title and fully accept the “greatest alive” title.  But after the Celtics undressed the Cavs in Game 6, everyone was left in a perpetual state of “WTF?”

Every sports program then proceeded to break down every possible basketball related explanation but none seemed to make sense because it went against everything we knew about Lebron for the past 7 years.  In fact, right up until the end of Game 3, everything seemed normal.  But then a certain story began circulating that was so crazy... it might be true.

Lebron’s mom was having an affair with teammate Delonte West.

Now I’m not saying it happened but compared to the other reasons, this one might be the most plausible explanation.  They say that Lebron heard about this just before Game 4 series, coincidently the exact time that Lebron forgot that effort is required to win basketball games.  At first I refused to even give this rumor the time of day but the more I thought about it, the more I started to believe it.

For one, if you paid attention to Lebron’s story then you know that Gloria James fits the typical single-mom-who-sacrifices-her-life-and-focuses-solely-on-her-son mold and is probably lonelier than she would be willing to admit.  So can you blame her if a young, athletic basketball player shows interest and she succumbs to temptation?  Sure, it’s a gross lack of judgment but she’s only human and sex does a great job of exposing our flaws.

Surely, Delonte West doesn’t have a problem finding younger, more attractive women, but maybe Delonte was tired of all the attention that Lebron was getting. Perhaps, Lebron isn’t as humble as we all thought and they’ve had a few arguments.  Maybe he notices Gloria giving him some extra attention and decides to give the ultimate “eff you” to Lebron.  Or maybe he fell in love, who knows?

It’s a stretch but definitely deserving of a double take.  As close as Gloria is to her son, I have no doubt that she’s around the Cavs frequently.  And nothing surprises me when a man, a woman and sex are involved.  Needless to say if its true, it fully explains why Lebron’s primary focus wasn’t the playoffs.  Knowing just how NBA players treat women, I’m sure this would be his worst nightmare.  But there are worse things than having your teammate sleep with your mom.

It could have been Kobe Bryant.
